DJ KLASSY K
Born July 22, 1975 into a religious and gospel musical family (The Dawson Family Singers) that expands over 5 decades to this day, Klassy K began getting into music in the early 80's riding to the grocery store with his father on saturday mornings. There he was introduced to the music of 'The Commodores', 'Earth, Wind & Fire', 'The O'Jays', 'Motown Music', etc. Later, his sister and brother brought him into the world of hip hop, where he grew up throughout the 80's and 90's on 'Public Enemy', 'Slick Rick', 'Africa Bambaata & Soulsonic Force', 'Run-DMC', etc. In school he used to beat box and create beats with his hands on tables and desks for the freestyle session. Klassy also performed in numerous talent and variety shows as a singer and dancer. He then ventured off into DJing where he taught himself how to DJ by watching his idol DJ Jazzy Jeff, along with other super DJ'S such as Jam Master Jay & Grandmaster Flash. Klassy made a name for himself. His brother later tapped him to become the DJ for his group, 'Street Poet Society'. Then he became a producer and later discovered another talent as an MC.
In 1997, Klassy left to attend school in Dayton Ohio, where he met a friend named Anthony Bell, who later introduced him to Christian Rap. Klassy returned to find out his two childhood friends Donny, now known to many as "D-MAUB" and Rob, B.K.A. "Lazarus", gave their lives to Christ and started FIC Music. Klassy later joined FIC as the DJ and one of many producers for the label. After a successful but brief stint with FIC Music, Klassy later reunited with his protege' (D-MAUB) and joined the staff over at ONE ROUTE ENTERTAINMENT, where he currently serves as the DJ and A&R for D-MAUB and he's one third of the very successful production team "Pricele$$ Productions". Throughout his whole music career, Klassy has worked with both local and national recording artist and he's one to look out for in the years to come.
